I’m SO excited to be out of the first trimester and on to feeling better. Now at 17 weeks all of my symptoms are mostly gone, except for being tired – but I don’t see that ending any time soon. I wanted to do a review for every trimester to remember how I felt and what was going on during the time. I must admit, I have been the WORST at taking pictures this time around. I need to get on that while I’m still small enough to watch my body grow and accommodate Little Miss.
Due date: November 14th – my other two were born before their due date, so I’m hoping she is too.
Size: At the end of the first trimester the baby is the size of my clenched fist.
Sickness: This has been my mildest pregnancy so far. I was nauseous on and off in the beginning, but my symptoms subsided around week 12. After the nausea ended, I had a week or two of headaches, but those stopped as soon as the first trimester ended.
Cravings: In the beginning was anything salty – I feel like it helped my nausea a lot. I’ve also craved burgers and sushi. I treat myself to my favorite cooked roll and can’t wait until I can indulge in the raw stuff.
Weight gain: I’m up two pounds.
Physical changes: Not many except my growing belly and I also have been having some dry skin, mostly on my face and back.
Best Moment So Far: There have been a few – telling the kids we were pregnant, seeing her for the first time (that tiny heart beat gets me every time), and our gender reveal. It was so much fun sharing our joy with all of our loved ones.
Purchases: We got a great deal on our stroller/car seat so we bought that. I also caved and bought some newborn sized sleepers and an outfit that says “little sister”. I also bought the kids shirts that say Big Sister and Most Awesome Big Brother – I’m already preparing for the first picture in the hospital of my three kids! Just writing that got me a little teary eyed!
Most Excited For: Feeling movement. I’m starting to feel her a little here and there now (17 weeks) but I can’t wait for more movement.
Overall, I can’t complain much about the first trimester. It treated me pretty well this time around, and so far the second trimester is treating me well too. Lets hope this lasts throughout :).
